Hi everyone,
It feels like the atumn is coming, doesn't it? I'm not sure wheter to be happy about it or not. The atumn for me usually means a lot of inpiration, energy and work. However, I was on Ranes (Raitsikka) and Jyrkis (69 eyes) gig last night and today I'm lacking all sorts of energy for working.
I guess a good nap and gym session will give me a good kick in the butt.
I have my second singles release party coming up the 18th, so now is not the time to sit around.
The happy summer fun is coming to an end and it's time to role up the sleeves. Anyhow, the show was deffinately worth seeing even though it left me a bit tired today. It felt very pure and "naked" with only the guitar and Jyrkis voice. It was cool to see Rane playing after teaching me some small different things on the guitar.
Cheers,
Jessica

A day on the couch
Hi everyone,
Yesterday I had a great guitar lesson with Rane Raitsikka. He is one cool teacher. The point is not to become a guitar player but to learn the basics to improve my songwriting.
Today I was suppose to have a singing lesson with a new coach that Jyrki from 69 Eyes recommended. I was looking very much forward to it but unfortunately my body thought differently and decided to get ill. With almost 40•c fever I had to stay home on the couch instead. I've learned it's no point to be annoyed about it so instead I took my time to rehearse what I've learned on the guitar so far. It didn't go as smoothly as yeaterday, but it's still better than nothing at all.
Cheers,
Jessica
Ps. Here's a link to an article they put on Suosikkis webpage. It's quite a funny story.

No more bad hair days
Hi everyone,
I got a phone call from Cime Beauty House a couple of days ago. They wanted to sponsor me so I went there to for a haircut.
I've never been good at taking care of my hair but after two weeks of salt and sun I realized it's about time to do something about it. The salon that recently opened looked really good and the hairdressers were very friendly. After a couple of hours the bad hair days came to an end, I was very happy with the result.
Cheers,
Jessica

Salty and fresh
Hi everyone,
The last two weeks have been pretty crazy. I haven't had internet access so I couldn't write earlier about the crossing from Marseille to Corsica. It was a great experience, especially since it was my first time sailing.
We waited a couple of days in Marseille because the wind was too strong. The third day the option was to either go or wait two more days, so we took the risk and left. I still don't understand how my friend dared to take me with him since I knew nothing about sailing. Later I realized that in that kind of weather you usually don't go sailing at all, and if you do you should be at least three people on board.
The first thing that happen was that we couldn't get the sails down and a few minutes later the steering broke. Fortunately my friend has a hint of Macgyver in him and repaired it with a hammer and a piece of wood.
It was getting dark and the waves were getting bigger. I think they were something between 3-5 meters. I'm still not sure why I felt so calm and comfortable, I deffinately shouldn't have. We went 12,4 knots without engines or sails.
After a long night the sun was finally rising again but the waves didn't get smaller. My friend had to take a nap and I took over. The waves got even bigger and I started to feel quite uncomfortable between all the high peaks of adrenaline rushes. If the boat starts turning while it's surfing down the wave it might flip over and then you gotta start swimming and hope someone finds you before you freeze to death.
Every wave felt like a big challenge and I knew that if I let fear take over it might have a bad effect on my steering so I started singing instead. It kept me calm and focused.
After what seemed like ages the waves started getting smaller and after 30 hours of sailing we finally reached the safe harbour.
I spent two weeks living on the catamaran in Corsica. I got back to Helsinki yesterday and I still feel a bit weird about being in the city. I remember dreaming about a machine with this horrible sound that would destroy the world, then I woke up and realized that it was only a car driving by the window. I guess that's what you get when you get too used to the silence and the waves.
Cheers,
Jessica

Sailing trip
Hi everyone,
In a couple of hours I'll be on a beatiful Catamaran built by my friends dad. We're sailing from Marseille to Corsica. It's only the two of us and it will take 24-48 hours. I've never sailed before so I'm expecting a challenging adventure. My main goal is to stay on the boat.
Cheers,
Jessica

Stunting around
Hi everyone,
Just came home after 7 hours of fighting and fooling around. I was doing stunts for this girl who's playing a ninja in a short movie. They also gave me another role as one of the "bad guys". I think I looked like something between a superwoman and the ABBA girls.
Except for the blue eye I accidentally gave my stunt friend, the day went well.
Cheers,

Jessica

Back in the city
Hi everyone,
I came back to Helsinki yesterday after spending a week at my summer place. I wish I could have stayed longer but got too many things to do in Helsinki.I have a meeting tomorrow about my single release and I also have a Skype meeting with a producer from New York tomorrow. Wish me good luck!
I'm also gonna do my first stunt role next Sunday. We've been training for a short movie with the stunt group (HMCIndie) for a few weeks now. Usually I act and do the stunts myself, so it's gonna be interesting to see how it works.
Life is rolling!
Cheers,
Jessica
