Great gig!

Hi everyone,

Yesterday was simply awesome. It started with a gig at Rööperifest. It was a bit of a struggle with the sound but it was a good warm up for the single release in the evening.
I was a bit nervous before the gig since it was the most important one so far, but I managed to get rid of my "brain ghosts". I came to the conclusion that in the end it's just 45 min of my life. I wasn't going to waste that on nervous energy.
Last time I was in the Carebbean I jumped off a 40 m high cliff into the water. It wasn't just because I wanted a good adrenaline rush. For a couple of years now I've thought that being on the stage is like jumping of a cliff. Either you jump or you don't and when you do you have no idea what to expect. Anything can happen and the best thing you can do is to enjoy and go with it.
So when I woke up that morning in a random tree house and saw the cliff for the first time there was no way around it. Having that thought in my head so many time I just had to do it physically. Remembering this in the backstage room gave me all I needed for a good show.
 By the time I got on the stage all "barin ghost" were gone and the feeling was awesome! The bar was full and the audience was great. Even my Kung Fu master showed up and I promised him to do a Kung Fu kick on the stage one day. I guess I have to start practicing with heels on.
Jyrki 69 (The 69 Eyes) was also there as a DJ playing rock music for a few hours and people seemed to have a good night.
After the gig the party continued for hours and I didn't get to bed until early in the morning. Now it's time to rest and sleep.

Finnglish

Hi everyone,

I was so inspired yesterday evening that I didn't fall asleep until 3 am. I guess it's a good reason to stay awake, but still. It resulted in a sleep walking zombie waking up, suddenly realizing that there's an interview in a couple of hours.
To wake myself up I had a cold shower and three cups of coffee. By the time the interview started the coffee had kicked in and I couldn't keep track of my tongue. It felt like my brain lacked a filter and my thoughts were flying out of my mouth in an extreme mix of Finnish and English. It's not necessarily a bad thing, just a typical me after too much coffee.
Here's a picture from yesterdays even at Cime Beauty House. I also found out today that there has been a misunderstanding and the gig will start at 22:00 on Thursday at Bar Loose instead of 21:00, incase you plan to come.

Interview for Metro

Hi everyone,

I went to a pre-party for Rihannas concert yesterday which was in Cime Beauty House that recently opened. I was there a few weeks ago when the place wasn't completely finished yet. It already looked good then but now it looks really nice.
Except for the Jägermeister and Champange they offered beauty treatments for free. There was quite a lot of media and artists too. The feeling was good and everyone seemed to have a lot of fun. I'm not sure if it was because of the beauty treatments, the DJ or the Jägermeister. I guess it was a mix, but of all the restaurant/shop and other openings I've been to, this was by far the best one.
Since I had band practice later I stayed away from the alcohol, which some reporters thought was a bit funny. I'll post some more pictures later.
Now I'm just about to go for an interview for the Metro magazine. The only problem is that I can't seem to find my Finnish language skills, I think I lost them in France. I should start by reading a book in Finnish, I think Rööperi could be a good one.

Gig coming up

Hi everyone,

For the last two days I've been pretty much inside of my own little working bubble. I have my single release party coming so and there's a lot to do.
To give myself a great start of the day I went to the gym this morning. After a couple of hours I went to the sauna to do a "voice massage" before going home for my daily singing session. I realized it's the best place to do it because the heat relaxes the muscles.
It started pretty well until I realized I hadn't washed off the facial scrub. After about 5 min it started dripping into my eyes. It stung like hell but stubborn as I was I kept on pouring water on the stones. It didn't work out so well because I couldn't keep my eyes open. Soon my eyes felt like they were on fire and blinded by the scrub, I gave up, almost tripping over as I tried to find my way back to the showers. So much for a voice massage in the sauna.
Except for that my day went pretty smoothly. I started writing a song with the help of my guitar. I'm far from a guitarist but I enjoy playing the few chords my guitar teacher has taught me.

Single release party coming up

Hi everyone,

It feels like the atumn is coming, doesn't it? I'm not sure wheter to be happy about it or not. The atumn for me usually means a lot of inpiration, energy and work. However, I was on Ranes (Raitsikka) and Jyrkis (69 eyes) gig last night and today I'm lacking all sorts of energy for working.
I guess a good nap and gym session will give me a good kick in the butt.
I have my second singles release party coming up the 18th, so now is not the time to sit around.
The happy summer fun is coming to an end and it's time to role up the sleeves. Anyhow, the show was deffinately worth seeing even though it left me a bit tired today. It felt very pure and "naked" with only the guitar and Jyrkis voice. It was cool to see Rane playing after teaching me some small different things on the guitar.

A day on the couch

Hi everyone,

Yesterday I had a great guitar lesson with Rane Raitsikka. He is one cool teacher. The point is not to become a guitar player but to learn the basics to improve my songwriting.
Today I was suppose to have a singing lesson with a new coach that Jyrki from 69 Eyes recommended. I was looking very much forward to it but unfortunately my body thought differently and decided to get ill. With almost 40•c fever I had to stay home on the couch instead. I've learned it's no point to be annoyed about it so instead I took my time to rehearse what I've learned on the guitar so far. It didn't go as smoothly as yeaterday, but it's still better than nothing at all.

No more bad hair days

Hi everyone,

 I got a phone call from Cime Beauty House a couple of days ago. They wanted to sponsor me so I went there to for a haircut.
I've never been good at taking care of my hair but after two weeks of salt and sun I realized it's about time to do something about it. The salon that recently opened looked really good and the hairdressers were very friendly. After a couple of hours the bad hair days came to an end, I was very happy with the result.
