UMK

Hi there,

I just decided to take two days off to sleep. I realized that the next days there'll be time to rest isn't until the 18th of December.
I just had a Skype meeting with Eric Gast who will be here in a week. I can't believe he is actually coming all the way here to start making my album! Things are rolling.
On the side of the album there is also the UMK contest going on. Last time I checked how the song was doing it was the 20th on the list and suddenly it went up to nr 4.
I have no idea what happened but if you were one of the people voting for me I want to give you a big thanks!

Cheers,

Hi there,

Chilling at my hotel room trying to ignore my writers block. I guess I'm just sleepy after waking up at 6 am, flying to Stockholm and writing songs the whole day. I think a good nights sleep will solve the problem.
I got connected to these guys through Jyrki from The 69 Eyes. They really good to work with. Hopefully we can get a song for my album.
In about two weeks time Eric Gast, who I met in New York, is coming to Finland to start producing my album. I can't wait to get st

New York, Circus and Eurovision

Hi there,

I just realized I never published this text I wrote in the beginning of the month. Here it is!

It's been a while since I updated my blog, but now I finally got a good moment to sit down and do so. Yesterday I went to a press release for the Eurovision competition.
My song happened to be one of the 40 out of 500 that got picked out. I was quite surprised when I heard the news.
10 days before the deadline I didn't have a song to send in and no time to make a new one, so I was looking for someone with a song but no artist.
Two days later Niklas Rosström invited me to do the vocals for a song he was about to write together with Paul Oxley and Janne Hyöty. The guys were still in the middle of the song writing session as I was sitting on the train.
I had no idea what to expect when I went straight from the train station to the studio. The style of the song was quite different than of my own music but it was a great and challenging experience to just throw myself into the feeling and doing something completely different.
Now they're picking out 12 songs out of the 40 depending on which songs gets the most votes. If you feel like supporting me in the competition, you're more than welcome to check out the song and "like" it ("tykkään"),  through this link.

Other than that I just came home from an absolutely amazing week in New York. As I mentioned earlier in my blog I got invited to a show organized by Fm World Charity.
Normally I wouldn't buy a ticket for just one show but my intuition kicked in and said I needed to be there. It was totally worth it.

Biting the charity guy might not be the best way to get started

The guy who invited me to the show was super nice and drove me around to different places on this awesome bike
The organization is not just a normal charity. It was created by a great producer called Eric Gast who has worked with many different artists. They focus on connecting music with their work which has been one of my main goals since I started with music.
After the show I had some meetings with the guys and now we're setting up plans for how we can work together in the future. Hopefully we see them in Finland soon. Here's a link, check it out!

My original plan was to go to Sweden straight from New York to write some songs but my plans took a different direction.
A week before I left I got invited to do some acrobatics, stunts, singing and Kung Fu in a show called Cirkus Ankdamm.
A night in the city
Today we had the first show. It went surprisingly well after traveling for 24 hours, waking up in a heavy jet lag and do rehearsals for the first time one day before the opening night.
The only thing that didn't work out too well, was when I forgot a couple of punches and improvised by throwing the circus director on the floor. Ups.... I should buy him a beer or something to make up for the bruises.

All the best,

Jessica

Adventure with Squishy

Hi,

I've been on an adventure today with Squischy. First we went to Radio X3M. I didn't realize we were supposed to be a part of a prank and scare the hell out of a girl.
Apparently one of the radio girls had had two of the guys waxing their legs in the studio, so now they looked for revenge by having me walking in with Squischy around my shoulders. Check it out!

After some snake therapy we continued to floors up to YleX for the second radio interview. Squischy was very admired and behaved super well.
