Hi everyone,

The gig in Tampere went well and felt even better. I moved around more than normally and cared less about the sound. Too bad I forgot my earplugs.
It was also my first time at Music&Media and it definitely won't be the last.
Now I'm on my way to New York. Since I had 4h to kill before the next flight from Stockholm I decided to go to the gym. At the trainstation they adviced me to go to a gym which is connected to a hotel.
I went to the hotel and when I asked for the gym and tried to pay, she said it's free and gave me a key. I quickly realized it was the wrong hotel and they had mistaken me for a hotel guest. Why not?

Cheers,

Jessica

Alot of action!

 Hi everyone,

There's a lot of action going on right now. I have a gig at Music&Media on Friday. It's the most important gig so far since there are music industry people from all around the world. I just have to hope that the right people will see my gig, and make sure it's a good one.
After that I have about one day to get home, pack and go to New York for some important meetings and to see a big show by FM World Charities. On the way home I'm making a quick stop in Stockholm to write a song together with a couple of great songwriters. I can't complain!

Cheers,

Jessica

Ps. Check out these pics! I went out with my friend Mikko Löppönen to do a random photo shoot just for the fun of it. We didn't have any lights, a make-up artist or other assistance.  It was a good experience but a very cold one. I hope you like them!

Trip down the memory lane at 4 am

"Morning has broooo-ken, like the first mo-o-oorning".
It's been ringing in my head since I got up. ( Its 4am and Im on my way to the airport ).
Along with some Italian Arias it was one of the first songs I learned when I started taking singing lessons as a 12 year old.
My teacher was a 75 year old opera singer. She tried to brainwash me with opera. It didn't quite work. Everytime she started to sing a beautiful piece, I put my fingers in my ears. How polite!
Don't get me wrong, I really loved that old wise woman. Opera wasn't just my thing, but I sure learned a lot of good things. She build my roots.
Three years later she died and I moved on to pop, musicals, CVT and eventually found my way to pop/rock after singing ballads for 10 years.

Jessica

Cime Beauty House

Hi everyone,

I went to Cime Beauty House yesterday who are also my sponsors. They make sure I keep my hair in shape. It's good that someone does because otherwise it pretty much stays the way it looks after I get up in the morning.
When I was a kid I hated going to the hairdresser because they always cut my hair short! I guess it had to do with the fact that I didn't understand Finnish as a kid.
So, when I got a bit older I stopped going, cause I didn't trust hairdressers. I went maybe once in a year or so.
When I went to Cime the first time I was a bit braver. I decided to take a risk and told them to do what they want except for cutting it short. The result really surprised me.
Since then it's been chill-time to go there. I just have my coffee, work or write lyrics while they're taking care of my hair. They have a pretty cool concept. I don't think I've been to a salon with so many services before.

Cheers,

Jessica

It's just not worth it

Hi everyone,

Had a pretty rough evening yesterday. If I wouldn't have been sober it would have been easier. Every once in a while I take a few weeks alcohol break just to clean my body.
All these gigs and events happened to take place at the same time and I had promised to be at three of them. Unfortunately it wasn't quite worth it. By the end of the evening the only reason why I wanted a drink was because I couldn't stand the noise and the drunk people around me.
Fortunately I met some good friends later so the evening didn't feel like a waste of time.

Cheers,

Jessica
